God’s Voice Is Better Than Any Horoscope

Some answers feel comforting until they pull us away from the One who already knows tomorrow.

Not long ago, I found myself thinking about how much people want to know what’s coming next.

Will this relationship work?

Should I take the new job?

Am I making the right decision?

Will things finally get better?

If we’re honest, we’ve all wanted those answers at one time or another. Life has a way of putting us in places where uncertainty feels heavier than we expected. When that happens, it’s easy to understand why so many people turn to horoscopes, astrology, tarot cards, fortune tellers, or anything else that promises a glimpse into tomorrow.

They’re not always looking for rebellion.

Many are simply looking for reassurance.

But I’ve learned something over the years.

God never promised to tell me everything about my future.

He promised He would walk with me into it.

We Want Certainty, but God Invites Us to Trust

One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn is that faith doesn’t grow by knowing everything ahead of time.

It grows by trusting the One who does.

Think about Joshua.

Standing at the edge of the Promised Land, he knew where God was taking Israel, but he didn’t know every battle that lay ahead. God didn’t hand Joshua a detailed schedule of victories and setbacks.

Instead, He gave him something much better.

His presence.

“Have I not commanded you: Be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9 (CSB)

Notice what God didn’t say.

He didn’t say, “I’ll explain every step.”

He said, “I’ll be with you every step.”

There’s a difference.

The Future Doesn’t Belong to the Stars

Every day, millions of people read horoscopes hoping they’ll gain insight into what lies ahead. In fact, surveys have found that roughly one in three Americans say they believe astrology is at least somewhat scientific, and many younger adults regularly engage with zodiac content online.

That tells me something.

People aren’t just looking for entertainment.

They’re looking for direction.

But direction has never come from the stars.

The stars were created by God.

They were never meant to replace Him.

Psalm 147 reminds us that God not only made the stars—He knows each one by name.

If He knows every star by name, how much more does He know the life He created in you?

God Has Already Spoken About This

The Bible doesn’t leave us guessing.

“No one among you is to practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery…”
Deuteronomy 18:10–12 (CSB)

For years I read that passage and thought God was simply making rules.

Now I see something different.

A loving Father was protecting His children.

Because whenever we begin trusting another voice more than His, we slowly drift away from the relationship He desires with us.

It’s never just about horoscopes.

It’s about who we’re trusting to lead us.

I’d Rather Hear God’s Voice

I’ve had seasons where I wished God would’ve told me everything ahead of time.

It would’ve saved me from some disappointment.

It would’ve helped me avoid some heartbreak.

Or so I thought.

Looking back now, I realize something.

If I had known every difficult season before I lived it, I might have spent more time worrying than walking.

Instead, God gave me exactly what I needed when I needed it.

Not next year’s grace.

Today’s grace.

Not tomorrow’s strength.

Today’s strength.

That’s how He’s always worked.

The Holy Spirit Is My Guide

Jesus never told His followers to search the stars.

He told them to follow His Spirit.

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.”
John 16:13 (CSB)

I’ve come to appreciate that word—guide.

A guide doesn’t stand a mile ahead shouting directions.

A guide walks with you.

That’s what God does.

Sometimes He whispers.

Sometimes He redirects.

Sometimes He says, “Wait.”

Sometimes He says, “Go.”

But He never abandons those who trust Him.

My Future Is Already in Better Hands Than Mine

I’ve stopped asking God to show me every chapter before I get there.

Instead, I ask Him to help me trust Him while I’m living this one.

That’s brought me more peace than any prediction ever could.

Life can feel uncertain.

But before you read today’s horoscope…

Before you search for someone to tell you what’s next…

Take a moment to ask the One who already knows.

He isn’t hiding your future from you to be cruel.

He’s inviting you to walk closely enough with Him that you won’t have to fear it.

The future God has prepared for you has never depended on your zodiac sign.

It’s always depended on His faithfulness.

And that’s the kind of future worth trusting.

Reflection

The world promises confidence through prediction.

God offers confidence through His presence.

One asks you to trust created things.

The other invites you to trust the Creator.

I’ll choose the Creator every time.
