Just because you’re under fire doesn’t mean God left.
We don’t talk about it enough.
That strange heaviness you feel for no reason.
The sudden arguments that come out of nowhere.
The sense that something is “off” even when everything looks fine on the outside.
That’s not just a bad day—it might be spiritual warfare.
And here’s what I’ve learned: just because I’m being attacked doesn’t mean I’ve been abandoned.
There are seasons in life where it feels like everything is coming at you at once—your health, your peace, your relationships, your finances, even your mind. You pray, you fast, you serve—and still, it’s like the enemy has you marked. It’s easy to start wondering, “Where is God in all of this?”
But listen to me carefully: God is not gone just because you’re being hit.
The fire doesn’t mean He left—it might just mean you’re carrying something the enemy wants to stop.
Spiritual Targeting is Real
The enemy doesn’t waste bullets. If you’re under spiritual attack, it’s likely because you’re walking in purpose or getting close to it. Spiritual targeting happens when hell sees heaven’s hand on your life. You’re not crazy, and you’re not being punished. You’re being opposed.
Even Jesus was led into the wilderness after His baptism—after the dove descended, after the Father declared His identity out loud. (Matthew 3:16–17, 4:1 NIV)
In other words, the attack came right after affirmation.
So don’t mistake warfare for weakness. Don’t let it convince you that God is distant. The truth? He’s closer than ever.
Authority Doesn’t Mean You Won’t Feel the Pressure
It took me a while to understand that being in spiritual authority doesn’t mean I’m immune to pressure. It means I have permission to stand in it. Not in my own strength, but in the strength of the One who called me.
Ephesians 6:10–11 says:
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (NIV)
Notice Paul didn’t say “so you can avoid attack.” He said “take your stand.”
Taking a stand means I don’t back down just because it hurts. It means I don’t give up just because it got hard. It means I recognize what’s happening, and I hold my position anyway—trusting that God sees, God knows, and God wins.
You’re Not Alone in This
There was a season where I was doing everything “right,” and I still felt like I was falling apart. I would wake up with anxiety, go to sleep with worry, and carry a quiet sadness in between. But I kept showing up. I kept praying. Kept leading. Kept believing.
And you know what I discovered?
The enemy fights loud, but God moves deep.
God doesn’t have to shout over your storm—He sits with you in it.
When Elijah ran from Jezebel and ended up under a broom tree, depressed and ready to give up, God didn’t rebuke him. God sent help. He sent rest. He reminded Elijah that he wasn’t alone. (1 Kings 19:3–18)
If you’re feeling targeted, misunderstood, or spiritually worn down—know this: you are seen, you are heard, and you are backed by Heaven.
Stand Up, Not Just Get Up
It’s one thing to get up after being knocked down. It’s another thing to stand in authority while the battle is still raging.
Standing means I declare peace when chaos surrounds me.
It means I speak life even when death is knocking.
It means I put on the armor daily—not because I want a fight, but because I’m not backing down from the one I’m in.
And when you stand—God backs you.
You are not abandoned.
You are not forgotten.
You are not without help.
You’re attacked… but you’re still anointed.
You’re pressured… but you’re still powerful.
You’re under fire… but you’re still favored.
So today, take heart. Stand tall. And remember—God didn’t bring you this far to leave you now.
