Trusting God when you can’t see what’s next.
Fear loves to fill the gaps where answers don’t exist. But faith chooses to move anyway. You don’t have to have the full picture to take the next step—just the confidence that God is already there.
I know what it feels like to stand at the edge of something unfamiliar. That pause where your mind races with every possible “what if.” What if it doesn’t work out? What if I’m wrong? What if I lose what I already have?
The truth is: fear thrives on unanswered questions. And life presents us with plenty of those.
But I’ve also learned that God doesn’t ask us to walk by explanations—He asks us to walk by faith.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7, CSB)
There were seasons in my life when I wanted guarantees. I wanted to see the entire staircase before taking even a single step. But God kept gently urging me to trust Him with the part I couldn’t see. To let go of the illusion of control and trust the One who sees the end from the beginning.
The Unknown Isn’t Empty — It’s Already Occupied
What helped shift my perspective was realizing that the unknown isn’t actually empty space. It’s territory God already occupies. My uncertainty isn’t His uncertainty. Where I see mystery, He sees completion.
“I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God but Me. I will strengthen you, though you do not know Me.” (Isaiah 45:5, CSB)
Courage Is Obedience in Motion
Sometimes courage doesn’t feel like bravery. It feels like trembling hands still reaching forward. Like praying while your voice shakes. Like saying “yes” to God while your mind tries to talk you out of it.
And yet—this is where faith resides. Not in having all the answers, but in having the confidence that God is faithful.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, CSB)
Fear Loses Power When You Take the Next Step
The longer we stand still, the louder fear becomes. But every step forward—even a small one—breaks its hold. Movement silences the lies of fear. Because with every step, you’re reminded that God keeps showing up.
I’ve had to learn this personally—through career shifts, personal loss, and leadership moments where I questioned everything. But every time I moved forward, I found that God had already gone ahead of me.
You Don’t Need the Whole Map—Just the Next Step
God often doesn’t give us a blueprint. He gives us daily bread. Just enough for today’s obedience. And that’s enough.
