Technology isn’t new—it’s just more recent.
From the hammer and chisel that shaped the Ark to the scrolls that carried the Word, humanity has always employed tools. The wheel, the plow, the printing press, the compass, the telescope, and electricity—each was a form of technology in its era. Every innovation expanded human potential, but only one thing has ever revealed divine truth: the Spirit of God.
Artificial Intelligence is simply today’s tool—another invention in a long line of human progress. But no matter how advanced it becomes, it can’t interpret what it doesn’t possess. It can calculate patterns but can’t discern purpose. It can speak words, but it can’t sense the weight of a whisper from Heaven.
AI is tech smart, but it’s not spiritually intelligent.
And that’s where believers must tread carefully.
Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 2:14 (CSB):
“But the person without the Spirit does not receive what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually.”
Technology must always be paired with discernment. We use it—but we don’t *worship* it. We engage with it—but we don’t allow it to engage our obedience. When the Spirit leads, technology becomes a servant of purpose, not a substitute for Presence.
AI can assist us in organizing sermons, managing ministries, and reaching more people—but it cannot experience conviction, convey compassion, or discern the subtle “yes” or “no” from the Lord. Those moments still require the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit, the One who guides us into all truth (John 16:13).
So yes, use the tools.
Use the code.
Use the tools.
But use them through spiritual sight.
Because intelligence without the Spirit turns into arrogance.
And innovation without discernment becomes idolatry.
AI may continue to grow more intelligent, but wisdom will always dwell with those filled with the Spirit.
