There are moments in life when nothing makes sense—when the job offer falls through, the relationship ends without warning, or the healing you’ve been praying for delays without explanation. And if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably tried to fix it with reason. You’ve replayed conversations, double-checked timelines, and tried to make spiritual sense of emotional chaos.

But faith doesn’t need the math to work.

Faith isn’t the product of 2 + 2 = 4. It’s more like 2 + God = more than enough.

When Jesus told Peter to cast his net after a night of catching nothing, it made no sense. The logic didn’t add up. The best time to fish had passed, and Peter knew it. But faith isn’t built on best practices—it’s built on obedience. Peter didn’t trust the method. He trusted the man who gave the instruction. And that’s the invitation for us too.

Trust the God who sees what we can’t.

Some of the most pivotal moves in my life came with no clear road map. Leaving situations I outgrew. Saying yes to new roles I didn’t feel ready for. Believing God would hold me together through seasons I didn’t ask for. None of it looked wise on paper. But faith isn’t about paper. It’s about presence. God’s presence.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV)

Your understanding isn’t faulty—it’s just limited. And limited understanding will always misinterpret an unlimited God. So when it doesn’t add up—when the numbers don’t match, the doors don’t open, or the plans don’t align—don’t panic.

You’re still in the plan.

God never promised it would make sense. He promised He would be faithful.
