There will be days when the weight of life feels unbearable—when the silence is loud, the struggles seem endless, and the answers you seek don’t come fast enough. In those moments, you must encourage yourself.
David did. When he found himself in distress, his people turned on him, and everything he had was taken away, he encouraged himself in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6). He didn’t wait for someone else to speak life into him; he reached deep within, reminded himself of God’s faithfulness, and strengthened himself in the Lord.
Encouraging yourself is an act of faith. It’s choosing to speak life over your situation when everything around you is screaming defeat. It’s remembering:
- You are not alone – God is with you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
- Your current struggle is temporary – Joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
- You are stronger than you think – His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
- Your story is not over – God’s plans for you are still good (Jeremiah 29:11).
So today, take a breath. Remind yourself of who you are and whose you are. Speak life. Encourage yourself. Because sometimes, the greatest motivation you’ll ever receive is the one you give yourself.
Keep going. God is with you. You’ve got this.
