– If both hearts are surrendered, God can restore anything.

Some of the most beautiful things in life never needed to be broken. But pride? Pride doesn’t ask for permission to ruin a good thing.

Sometimes it’s not the situation that caused the damage—it was the silence, the assumption, the refusal to say, “I was wrong.” Pride keeps score. Pride waits for the other person to move first. Pride builds walls with no windows. And after enough time has passed, both sides forget what the fight was even about—they just know they don’t talk anymore.

But God remembers what was. He remembers the love that once flowed freely, the laughter that echoed, the unity that felt sacred. And He doesn’t just leave it buried. If both hearts are willing, God *can* bring healing. But let’s be real—it starts with surrender. Not strategy. Not control. Not who gets credit for saying sorry first.

Healing doesn’t mean pretending nothing ever happened. It means giving God the pieces that pride tried to keep apart.

James 4:6 (NLT) says, “And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.'”

“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

That means the very attitude that caused the fracture is the one thing God refuses to bless. But humility? Humility opens the door for heaven to enter. When we let go of our need to be right, we create space for what’s still worth saving.

You don’t need all the answers to begin healing. You just need one honest moment. One moment that says, “I don’t want to lose something just because I couldn’t say I was sorry.” One moment that says, “Let’s start over.”

Restoration isn’t magic. It’s a process. But with God, it’s possible.

If pride has caused damage in your life—whether in a marriage, friendship, or family relationship—ask yourself: Am I still trying to win? Or am I ready to heal? Because God can restore what pride attempted to destroy. He just needs a “yes” from both hearts.

Not a perfect yes.
Just a surrendered one.
