God sees what they distorted—stay anchored in truth.
Some wounds don’t come from fists—they come from misquoted words. You expressed one thing, and somehow they made it mean something entirely different. You tried to help, but your intentions were misunderstood. Whether it was a family member, a coworker, or even someone at church… it hurts. But let’s be clear: God heard what you truly said. And He understands your intent, even when others do not.
When Jesus stood before Pilate, they twisted His words too. They accused Him of things He didn’t say, things He didn’t do (Luke 23:2). Instead of defending Himself out of anger, He remained anchored in truth. That doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt—it means He refused to let lies define His identity. That same peace is available to us.
You don’t have to chase every false version of your story. That will exhaust you. Sometimes silence is strength, and stillness is trust. God doesn’t miss a thing. Stay honest, stay prayerful, and stay anchored in the truth of who you are and what you meant.
Let Psalm 26:1 (NLT) remind you:
“Declare me innocent, O Lord, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.”
When they twist your words, God untangles them in His time. And His version of the story—the true version—is the only one that will endure.
