There’s a pressure that comes with spiritual leadership—spoken or not—that you’re supposed to always know what to say. What to pray. What to do. You’re the one people turn to when the storm hits or when direction feels unclear. But here’s the truth I’ve learned: leadership isn’t about always having the right answers. It’s about showing up with a right heart.

There were seasons I thought I had to carry everyone’s expectations, questions, and fears—while burying my own. I thought being “strong” meant being silent about my doubts. I thought being “wise” meant never admitting I was weary. But over time, God reminded me that vulnerability isn’t weakness—it’s worship.

It’s okay to say, “I don’t know—but I’m praying too.”
It’s okay to say, “I’m listening and leaning in, just like you.”

You’re not less of a leader because you have questions. You’re not unqualified because you’re still healing. Some of the most powerful moments in ministry have come not from what I preached, but from what I admitted. From saying, “I don’t have it all figured out either—but I’m staying with God through it.”

Even Moses—who led a nation—questioned his calling.
Even Paul—who wrote most of the New Testament—pleaded with God for relief and didn’t get the answer he wanted.
Even Jesus, in His humanity, wept and asked if the cup could pass.

Leadership isn’t about perfection. It’s about proximity.
To God. To the people you serve. And to the truth.

So if you’re leading a family, a ministry, a team, or just trying to lead yourself—know this:
You don’t need a full map to take the next faithful step.
You don’t need a scripted response to be trusted.
You don’t need a polished image to carry purpose.

You just need to keep showing up.
Keep praying honest prayers.
Keep pointing people to the God who does have all the answers—even when you don’t.

And if no one’s told you lately—you’re doing better than you think.
