Some things God places in us don’t show up right away. They’re not loud. They’re not flashy. And sometimes, they’re not even recognizable—at least not at first.
But that doesn’t mean they’re not there.
There is a gift in you that’s been quietly waiting for the right moment. It’s the kind of gift that doesn’t need a spotlight to grow. It needs obedience. It needs surrender. It needs time.
You may have mistaken its silence for absence.
You may have assumed that if it was real, you would’ve seen more fruit by now.
But what if the reason you haven’t touched it yet is because you’ve been busy managing what’s visible—while God has been nurturing what’s hidden?
Let that sit for a minute.
The Seed Beneath the Soil
In Matthew 13, Jesus talks about seeds and soil. But the seed doesn’t sprout immediately. It’s hidden, buried, and vulnerable. Still—it’s there. The process doesn’t make it less powerful; it makes it more prepared.
Likewise, the gifts in you aren’t lost just because they’re not fully formed. They’re germinating—quietly growing under the surface of your daily life, your faith walk, your private prayers.
And when the season shifts, what’s been hidden will rise.
What’s Been Dormant Still Has Destiny
Some of us buried our gifts under doubt, fear, or false humility. Others were told early on that they weren’t gifted at all—and we believed it.
But just because something was buried doesn’t mean it was dead.
Romans 11:29 reminds us that “God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable” (NIV). That means the creative spark, the healing word, the administrative wisdom, the pastoral heart, the visionary ideas—they’re still in you. Even if you haven’t activated them yet.
Let God Reveal It—Not Your Insecurities
Sometimes the enemy doesn’t attack what you’ve done—he attacks what you haven’t discovered yet. Because once you touch that gift, once you begin to operate in what God really placed in you, something shifts. And he knows that.
So don’t rush the revealing—but don’t neglect the preparation either.
Ask yourself:
- What do I sense God stirring in me lately?
- What gifts have others affirmed that I’ve been too afraid to explore?
- What brings me peace, purpose, or fire when I talk about it?
Even if it’s still hidden to the world—it doesn’t mean it’s absent in you.
Final Thought
There’s more to you than you’ve tapped into. More God wants to do through you, but it starts in you. And no matter your age, stage, or circumstances, the gift is still there. God didn’t forget about it. And He hasn’t changed His mind about you.
So don’t dismiss what hasn’t shown up yet.
There’s a gift in you you haven’t even touched.
But you will.
