– God trusts you because He’s equipping you.

There are moments when God places us in front of people who are broken in ways we’ve never been. Addictions we’ve never faced. Losses we can’t relate to. Questions we don’t have answers for. And in those moments, insecurity whispers, “You’re not enough for this.”

But what if that’s not a disqualification? What if it’s the exact posture God can use?

Moses didn’t part the Red Sea because he was confident—he did it because he obeyed while trembling. When he said, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?” (Exodus 3:11), God didn’t respond with a pep talk. He responded with presence: “I will be with you.” (Exodus 3:12)

Esther didn’t step into the palace fully prepared—she stepped in fasting. Her cousin Mordecai reminded her, “Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14). Purpose doesn’t always feel like clarity—it often feels like risk.

Timothy was young and timid, yet Paul wrote to him, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example…” (1 Timothy 4:12). God calls people based on obedience, not age or experience.

Feeling unqualified might actually be confirmation that you’re in the right place.

God doesn’t ask you to fix people. He asks you to be available while He does the healing. Sometimes your presence, your listening ear, or even your willingness to say “I don’t know, but I’m standing with you,” speaks louder than any sermon.

If you’re walking with someone through a valley you’ve never traveled yourself, don’t panic. You’re not there because you’ve mastered the terrain—you’re there because God trusts you to lean on Him in the process.

“Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.” (2 Corinthians 3:5)

And that trust? That’s His way of saying, “I’ll supply what you lack.”
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
